@zetamacs I'm curious whats going to get focus now syscall has been fully removed after 5 years work. could we see some VMD and filesystem work?. My understanding is that softdep was pulled as it was hampering various planned improvements.

@norayr it's actually the syscall (for making indirect syscalls) syscall that was removed.

indirect calls? interesting, xz backdoor was using glibc ifunc, again a function for indirect calls. no idea if it is completey ibplemented in glibc or glibc uses imilar kernel level system call.
