Bought a Model M
Decided to buy a real IBM Model M. Just got it yesterday. As I've been warned it is really heavy -- nice. And pretty dirty. Can't test it until my PS/2-USB adapter arrives.
Until then, I need to clean it. So far managed to soak and wash the cable. Need to find my keycap puller and get it open, but I've been unable to be productive lately. Maybe tomorrow.

Started fixing it up by washing the keycaps with Dawn.
Unable to open -- it needs a very skinny 5.5mm driver. Mine are too fat and I couldn't find the grinder wheel. So ordered a driver on Amazon; also a bunch of M2.5x8 bolts and nuts to rebolt it as long as it's stripped down.
Actually, managed to unscrew out 2 of bolts holding it shut with needlenose pliers. One was out in the open; the rest are sunk deep into little wells and are nearly impossible to turn. I did one but it took an hour, and I decided to at least try to stop being a moron and wait for Amazon tomorrow.
