Right, so now Iβm in front of my computer, I guess I will write some more about my diet.
I ate very little red meat, the protein part of my diet is mostly chicken breast (for much reduced haem content). I eat quite a lot of eggs, which in addition to the protein in egg white, is also a good source for fat.Over the years I become rather creative in seasoning, which is the key to make keto diet tolerable long term.
The bulk of my food intake by volume is vegetables, like cabbage, broccoli, spinach etc.
I still occasionally consume high carb food, but as I age, it become increasingly more difficult to get back into ketosis, I just need more and more time in induction phase.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I guess decant's advice regards protein vs fat would help mitigate some of the potential kidney stress though if my kidneys are healthy (I believe they were at last health check) and I'm not eating until I get "meat sweats" constantly I should be relatively safe. I'm not planning on doing STRICT meat only Carnivore; will allow animal products such as cheese and eggs. I'll see how it gors and if needed go more Paleo, adding some fibre via leafy greens and maybe nuts. I'm not doing it for weight loss though a slight reduction in body fat would be nice. Mainly interested in some of the purported health benefits (improved skin, mental function and energy mainly).

Thinking of trying the Carnivore Diet in the New Year. Is there anyone one on here who has been doing Carnivore long-term that could share their experience with it? I know the first couple of weeks can be rough as your gut adjusts but how have you found it after that? Any health issues cleared up? Increased muscle mass/volume? General tips?
