The APK on GitHub worked fine for me (degoogled), but I'm not sure if that's what needs to be tested. I have some suggestions, but I won't make them if I've not been testing the right thing.

supid invasive google require you to have N number of people run your app for N days (or some such nonsesne), to concider it good nuff to get into their joke of a platform, and they check that with their proprietary malware, that's why poor stefan has to ask for accounts here in /s/privacy

ahem, i meant to type if you don't think it's funny to ask for gmail accounts on privacy subspace I don't know what how else help you with your predicament
also if you really wanna help, and not just virtue signaling, the best thing you can do is provide affordable software installation, configuration and maintanance service in your local area, yet another android app is not gonna change anything, aint none of those non-technical folks be doing their own crypto and not shootin themselves in the foot with it
