@namark : is anybody using guppy? Are there any clients?

@dimkr do you see what's goin on here? stop diddling tootik and get the guppy stuff back up, you are embarassing me rn!
@lars_the_bear any client worth a dime supports guppy

@namark : this is perhaps a bit off-topic, but I'm unclear what advantage guppy offers over, say, Spartan. II find Spartan a bit faster than Gemini, perhaps because of the loss of the TLS overhead. Is UDP faster than TCP, for the same of payload?

could be faster if you're smart about it
TCP - easy pickins, UDP - big boy stuff

Now with added Spartan... I'm not sure how much interest there is in the Spartan protocol these days, but my pointless ramblings are now available on Spartan. It's the same old shit, just different protocol. [spartan link] My capsule on Spartan Not just self-promotion: I'm using a server I wrote myself, and I'd be interested to know whether it works for other folks. I've tested with Lagrange and Alherna. Better, perhaps: I'd be interested to know how easy it is to break, or crash the server....
