Oh my fucking god I am so stupid. Remember when I thought I was banned on Antenna. Yeah, that wasn't the case at all. I have a slight form of number dyslexia and for some reason, after about a week ago I consistently dated new entries in my gemlogs to 2024 instead of 2026. Well, at least I got the "simulated" situation of being banned. But my points about centralisation and power structures were already there before that, it just made them a more urgent thing to deal with for me. Alas, there are new and more aggregators out there now and federation is on the table which is a thing I am genuenly happy to see.

Okay, in thinking a lot about the social infrastructure that aggregators create and spending a bit of time in setting up my own little aggregator on gemini://sojuz.v-tr.org/comitium/feed.gmi, I came across some news about Antenna shutting down and some new Antenna instances coming up, including them doing federation. (see gemini://antenna.ucant.org/about.gmi). I'll see if I have a chat with the people involved, because it is at the core of how to build communities of writers here.
